Well it is that time of year again to start planning for your annual Christmas party. After last year’s success the real question is how could you ever do better? Well for starters, you can’t have the best Christmas parties at the office, you need to have them out in the real world where everyone would have a reason to have some serious fun. What better place to hold a Christmas party then at a local restaurant. They have the space, they have the food and they definitely have the beverages to host your party, so why not?

Well unfortunately, it comes down to timing. Most of the well-known restaurants who cater to parties will slowly start booking up the popular days for other parties. What this means is that the longer you take deciding on a venue, the less venues which will be available for you to choose from. Don’t be left having to throw your party after Christmas is over like some people do every year.

The best restaurants to have a Christmas party in are the ones that have the bars; preferably some sort of open bar set-up because no one wants to party without the booze and no one will really wants to pay for them after all. It only makes sense. But before you can think about all of the logistics you need to find out which venues are still available. They are going faster then you would believe so don’t take to long planning for the Christmas party.

How to Cook Famous Secret Restaurant Recipes

If you’re anything like me, you have always wondered how it is that restaurants are able to keep their dishes tasting so good, while the dishes that I cook at home, while seemingly using the same ingredients taste so average. I always wondered how to obtain these secret restaurant recipes. I’m sure everyone wonders this at one point or another. With all the money I was spending to eat out at restaurants, I was searching for a way to cut costs without cutting quality meals for my family.

Normally I’m pretty skeptical about ordering anything online, but I made an exception this time around. The first three purchases I made turned out to be a waste of my time and money. I cooked at least a dozen meals using the recipes I found in these first three guides, and found that these meals pretty much tasted about as good as any other home cooked meal I usually prepare for my family.

About ready to throw in the towel, I was recommended one more product by a family friend. He claimed that he had used the guide with great success, this guide was; America’s Most Wanted Recipes. Reluctantly, I placed one more order. After I had received America’s Most Wanted Recipes, I immediately noticed a difference in the quality of the recipes. In fact, some of the recipes I had previously prepared with the other guides that I had purchased were included and contained as many as three more crucial steps in each recipe.

I have now been cooking with America’s Most Wanted Recipe’s for over 5 months, and I have to say that I have been genuinely surprised. Most of the secret restaurant recipes that are included in the book actually taste just like they do in the restaurant. My favorite is the Red Robin halibut and chips meal that comes with the guide. The best part is that these restaurant recipes are actually very cheap to prepare. I didn’t understand it at first, but I have come to realize that these restaurants are a business, and want to save money and cut costs just like I do.

Overall I have been very pleased with my purchase of this guide, and I can only hope that more people will read my review so they can avoid the same mistakes I made while I was searching for the right guide. Using this guide has shown me that it is possible to prepare tastey home cooked meals, with restaurant recipes without spending a fortune to do so.

The guide comes with so many extra, small guides that it is completely worth the price. I have almost completely changed the meals the I used to cook, and have learned to cook dozens more restaurant recipes from this guide. Not to Mention that it helps you save time and money throughout each month because you are not eating out as much.

Ease: 9/10

Some of the recipes can be a little complicated, mostly since I wasn’t used to using the techniques they used to prepare the dishes. Most meals can be prepared, cooked, and served in under an hour.

Planning Your Restaurant Layout

Planning the layout of your restaurant can make or break your business. It decides how many customers you can serve at any one time, influences the quality of the service and allows you to accommodate different groups of people. The furniture you choose is central to the layout so must be considered right from the start.

Of course you need to fit as many customers in as possible, but that’s not to say you should leave a cramped atmosphere. This will displease customers and stop them coming back to your restaurant - they might even complain about the lack of space. Find a happy medium that lets you utilise all the space well. This includes:

Leaving space for essentials like the bar, the waitress station and enough room between tables for waitresses to get through without bumping into each other. This allows your staff to work in an efficient manner and keeps your customers happy. If you make life difficult for staff thanks to a poor restaurant layout they’ll work slower and make more mistakes.

Buying multifunctional furniture. This lets you accommodate varying party sizes easily, from a single diner by themselves to large corporate groups. Many types of furniture can achieve this, two of which are modular styles and also folding furniture. Single diners especially can take up a lot of room without making you a lot of money, so it’s very useful to have smaller furniture options for them.

Not relying on contract furniture measurements in a catalogue. Always go and see the furniture in person or ask for a sample so you can see it in situ. Some furniture styles are bigger and bulkier than others and will take up far more room than you expected. This can throw your best-laid plans into chaos as you realise free space between tables has shrunk and the restaurant now has a cluttered, claustrophobic feel.

Using the corners of rooms. A lot of restaurants, especially those with angular bars or interior partitions, find it difficult to use the corners to their maximum potential. You don’t want to cram any poor diners in there and make them face a wall at close proximity, but you don’t want to leave the space open because then it’s wasted. One solution is to use a large, circular table in the corner and utilise the space for groups. This means that someone is sat right in the corner but no-one actually faces the wall.

Finally, planning all the little details that make dining in your restaurant convenient and pleasurable. A coat stand by the entrance for example where people can hang their coats and umbrellas, bag hooks underneath the tables so diners know their belongings are safe and clearly signposted bathrooms that are easy to find and easily accessible. A good space around the bar if diners have to pay here is also a good idea, otherwise you’ll have to deal with queues forming that get in everyone’s way. All these things just make the dining experience nicer and will keep people coming back again and again.
